Imagine a world where you can conquer your fears, travel anywhere, & live out exciting adventures. You can experience all this & more when you learn how to lucid dream. It is absolutely possible for everyone, but it will take dedication, practice, and patience. By regularly practicing the following techniques, you can train your brain to lucid dream.
1) Get better sleep / have a calming bedtime routine: To get better sleep it helps to keep your bedroom as dark, cool, & quiet as possible. Use an eye mask to block out any light. Use ear plugs, fan or white noise machine to do the same with noise. Set the thermostat to a cool, comfortable setting. Also, set up a calming bedtime routine. Engage in restful activities like unplugging from your electronics, taking a warm bath, drinking tea & meditating.
2) Keep a dream journal: A very important step to lucid dreaming is tuning into your dreams. Keep a dream journal by your bed (If you subscribed to our February box, you already have one😁) & when you wake up, write down everything you remember from your dream. Alternately, you can try recording your memories as a voice memo on your phone or download a dream journal app.
3) Recognize your dream signs: Don’t just record your dreams, review your journal regularly & look for any patterns. Do certain themes or people show up? These may provide insights into the types of issues your inner self is focused on. They will also help you start recognizing when you’re dreaming.
4) Perform reality checks: Reality checks are a form of mental training. This will help get your brain used to identifying whether you’re dreaming or not. It’s recommend to practice this about 10 times per day: Try to push the index finger of one hand through the palm of your opposite hand. Do so with the expectation that you’ll be able to make this happen, while asking yourself “Am I dreaming?” In a dream, your index finger will go through your hand, although it wouldn’t in reality. By making this a regular habit, you might repeat this experiment in your dream, & when your finger goes through, you’ll know you’re dreaming.
These tips are a great starting point. Remember it will take practice & patience 💋
